- Gators keep undefeated record intact
Vinny Magliano scored 2 goals on Friday afternoon at Patapsco to help the Gators secure their 6th win of the season by the score of 3-1. The Gators scored twice in the first 8 minutes with a toe poke by Angelo Kelis and a Magliano headball off of a Timmy Brooks flip-throw. Magliano’s header was the first goal this season by the Gators that came directly from a Brooks flip-throw, which is a dangerous and unique offensive weapon. For the most part, the Gators seemed to lack their usual passion and intensity. The extent to which Homecoming festivities distracted the team cannot be measured, but the team’s uncharacteristic lack of energy and enthusiasm was troubling to the coaching staff and seemed to indicate a distraction of some kind. However, the coaches were quick to point out that championship teams always find a way to overcome adversity of any kind, and the Gators certainly did that on Friday.

- Gators overcome adversity and Eastern Tech in overtime nail-biter
The Gators defeated a well coached Eastern Tech team on the road on Monday with an overtime strike by Tyler Russell. The Gators had the majority of possession and a plethora of scoring opportunities, but the Eastern Tech defense held firm through both halves and into the first overtime period. Game-ending injuries were suffered by two key starters, Vinny Magliano and team captain Andre Moeller. The injuries pressed Chris White into service at stopper, a position he had never even practiced at before. The coaching staff felt confident that White’s characteristic tough tackling, good ball control, crisp passing, and intelligence made him the best choice to stand in for the injured Moeller. Ryan Carter and Justin Goodall came in off of the bench to fill in for the injured Magliano. The entire team seemed to rise to the challenge of missing two key players. They were rewarded for their persistence in overtime when Chris White served a free kick into a crowd in front of the Eastern Tech goal. The ball fell at the feet of Tyler Russell, and he neatly slid the ball into the far corner of the net, keeping the Gators undefeated season intact.

- Game at Patapsco is postponed
Saturday mornings game at Patapsco was postponed due to inclement weather. Officials decided that this game should be played under more ideal conditions. No details yet on when the game will be made up.

- Perry Hall dominates Poly, 4-0.
The Boys JV Soccer team defeated Poly under the lights on Friday night. The Gators dominated from the opening whistle, but had difficultly capitalizing on their opportunities until the end of the first half when Eric Lucas blasted one into the back of the net from inside the 6-yard box. The team wore down the scrappy Poly team little by little, putting the game out of reach by the middle of the second half. Ryan Carter, who started at forward but spent most of the game on the right side of the midfield, continued the Gators’ relentless assault on goal throughout the second half. Goals were added by Nick Pratzer, Tyler Russell, and Pedro M. The final score was 4-0.
